Rose co-own’s Thrive:Mind/Body, LLC and embodies our 'therapreneur' spirit, harnessing her talents as both a therapist and an entrepreneur to further propel her practice.
A wonderful writer (soon to be featured in a thera-LINK Guest Blog), Rose is a genuine soul who brings an organic ease to every conversation. We've watched as she continuously sets and accomplishes her goals with incredible kindness, humility and efficiency. What is your name and the name of your practice? How long have you been in practice?
My name is Rose Skeeters, LPC, PN2, NCC & my practice name is Thrive: Mind/Body, LLC.
We offer traditional counseling as well as life & business coaching services in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on the Main Line (https://tmbtherapy.com).
We also offer online counseling & life coaching services through https://www.thriveonlinecounseling.com/.
I have been in practice for over 10 years and made the leap into private practice a few years ago. I love my career and am grateful to be able to help others experience self growth.
What do you do for fun? What hobbies do you do? Tell us about you outside of your "provider" role. :)
Outside of my role as a provider, I love to spend time with my family. We have a 9.5 year old son, a year old German Shepherd puppy, and a senior Boston Terrier. My husband, son, and I love to hike, play basketball, go swimming, ride our bikes, cook healthy foods, and work out together. I also enjoy training our puppy, Katja, and watching our son play baseball and basketball.
I am a nutrition coach and a lover of food. My husband (personal trainer, mindset coach @Skeeters Strength) and I enjoy coming up with new, creative ways to incorporate healthy foods, exercise, and mindfulness into our busy lives to maintain a healthy mind/body balance.

Where do you practice (state, etc..) and what areas do you specialize in?
I specialize in trauma and attachment disorder in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
I also offer online counseling services to Pennsylvania residents as well as life & business coaching nationally and internationally with the thera-LINK platform.
Why did you go into your profession?
I had started my undergraduate career as a clarinet performance major. In my quest to seek self growth, I found an introduction to psychology course intriguing and have been interested in the field ever since.
I was fortunate to learn skills that enhanced my life while learning to become a skilled clinician and coach. I have a passion to share these skills with others so that they too can experience transformation and healing.
What are you passionate about in your practice?
I am passionate about the values of honesty, integrity, & transparency in both the therapeutic relationship as well as in interpersonal relationships.
I am also passionate about the process of healing from trauma & the teaching of key skills that may have been missed in development due to an attachment disorder or to lack of knowledge and nurturing by early caregivers.
How long have you been doing online sessions with your clients?
I have been providing online coaching sessions for about 2 years now.
Why did you start using thera-LINK to see clients?
I was searching for a secure online platform when I came across thera-LINK. After a trial period, I made the switch from another service to thera-LINK because of their excellent customer service, easy-to-use platform, and affordable prices. thera-LINK has since offered features that enhance the service that I am able to provide to my clients such as secure messaging.
Do your clients find that online sessions offer them similar results as coming in to an office? Do they prefer online sessions or in office? Was it a difficult adjustment for them?
My clients love the convenience of online sessions and report that they see great results, regardless of not being in the office setting. Many clients prefer online counseling to in office sessions due to ease of access, anonymity, and lack of travel associated with these sessions.
What would you tell someone just starting out with an online option for their clients? Any tips/tricks or things you've learned along the way?
For clinicians just starting out, I recommend joining a networking group such as a Facebook group for online therapists in order to keep in touch with recent trends and to seek support when needed.
I also recommend that clinicians new to online therapy ensure to engage in self care. It can seem like a dream come true to work from the couch, though this comes with its own struggles. Schedule your day, create a designated workspace, choose healthy foods, remember to get up and move, and stay on top of your CEUs to maintain your passion for your career.
Where do you work from mostly? (i.e. home office, beach :), actual office where you see clients in person as well?)
I work mainly from my home office. When clients prefer phone sessions, I can often be found walking my puppy or throwing her frisbee while we chat.
Did you purchase any new equipment when you embarked in an online practice? Either way, what do you use for your sessions? (i.e. laptop/tablet, webcam, headset, big monitor)
I purchased an HP laptop when I embarked on the journey of offering online counseling and coaching. I use my laptop and my cell phone along with ear buds from time to time.
